This is from his last album and is probably tied with the song Girls Alone (not the swazzi riddim one though) as my favourite song by Assassin. This song is like dancehall/crunk, don’t fuck with us magic. It grew on me over a number of months and now I play it in every set. It has a high bpm so you can mix it in pretty easy with electro, house, b-more or whatever (I would like hear someone mix this with disco though I fear I am not up to the challenge myself). When you mix this into electro it is like throwing an angry bucket of icewater on the crowd and they get all gangsta even though just a minute ago they were dancing to Yelle.

February 13, 2008Since I discovered this song back in early 2007 I think I have played it in all my dj sets. This song has so much going for it: the retro 90’s dance kinda synth, the way the kick is plodding but hard and the breakdown in the middle. I love that damn breakdown. And I love most when I dj to mix it in with dancehall reggae. Try it, play Pull Up by Mr Vegas and then bring in the breakdown in this song and let it build in the background. It will blow your mind. And then you can mix the end section into anything reasonably possible. I need to stop using this song though. I use it too much.
