Rather than talk about one song here, let me talk of a riddim. If you do not know what a riddim is well then you are missing an essential concept in dancehall and need to go find out what it is. The 2070’s riddim creates something I always dreamt of: disco dancehall. Something else it has allowed to happen are ridiculous remakes of classic disco songs on a dancehall tip. “Staying Alive” becomes “Pussy so Tight”, “Ring my Bell” becomes “Nah Smell” and so on and so forth. Another great aspect is that this riddim is at a bpm that can be mixed with real disco, electro and really anything else that’s faster. All this equals awesome times.
